No Longer Sandboxed by Google

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

After a weekend of being sandboxed by Google, having all my pages sent to the back of the search engine, they have changed my rankings and once again I am allowed to have normal search engine results. This means my sandboxed traffic of 3,000 can return to a normal 20,000 page impressions.

However, I am not completely out of the sandbox yet. Google has still determined this website to be full of viruses, of which it is not. There is no determining how long this part of the sandbox is going to last until Google no longer determines this site a virus spyware site.

Currently I have applied for reconsideration many times, but still it remains…

Reasons to Offer Prizes and Gifts For a Website Promotion

Monday, September 21st, 2009

If you have a website and want people to do something for you, one of the best ways is through a website promotion. This can include prizes and gifts if the people that visit your website do what you want them to you. Whether it is a daily gift giveaway for subscribing or a random prize giveaway for people who write on your forum, or comment on your blog, this can significantly help grow your blog traffic.

Why I Offer Prizes and Gifts On My Website
Sometimes people need a little incentive. The thought of winning something can be just enough motivation to get my websites growing without spending a lot of money. One of the current deals on some of my forums is that if they start 100 new topics they get a t shirt. Though 100 sounds like a lot in order to get a prize or gift, it actually has motivated more people to start writing for me.

They get the tshirt and I get even more additional advertising (when they wear the t shirt). Plus, they will want to wear the tshirt because they worked for it. This might motivate other people they tell to want to write on the forum too. Overall offering prizes and gifts can multiply your traffic greatly.

I tend to stay away from monetary prizes and stick with something like a tshirt or other prize that could cost any amount. This way they aren’t working for $5, but rather something that could be worth 5, 10, or even 20 dollars depending on how the person values it.

Official Google Site Reconsideration Video

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Maybe your site disappeared from the Google index, among other problems and you need to get a Google Site Reconsideration. Considering that most people’s websites get a lot of traffic from Google, it will be important to get the site reconsideration.

Watch this video if your site has stopped showing up in Google and you require reconsideration. There are many reasons why this could have happened and the video is the official way to help determine what to do.

Overall there isn’t a lot of new information that you couldn’t read straight from Google, but still if you are unsure or a newbie in site reconsideration I would recommend this video.

Getting Sandboxed By Google, What To Do

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Recently I feel that one of my major websites was sandboxed by Google. Basically what happens with a Google Sandbox is that your website gets taken out, or pushed back in the search engine. You end up loosing tons of traffic, and there isn’t much you can do. My current situation is: 1. Google won’t change the status on my website from being non virus threatening 2. My tv online site got pushed far back in the rankings, high diminishing it’s traffic 3. I am blocked from Google Adsense

These are three things that can highly effect a websites income and make someone feel as if Google is against them. Thankfully I didn’t put all my eggs in one basket and I’ve got other websites that make a substantial income.

My plans for my current sandbox? Continue updating new content on my current website and build another website with similar content to try to get back my lost traffic and reuse the content I’ve written for the last two years.
