If you have a blog or a website you need websites linking to your blog to boost your page rank which will lead to better search results for your website. One way to do this is through getting links to your blogs. But what are the best ways to find and get links linking back to your blog?

Find Your Competitor’s Blog Links
1. You can easily find good links to your blog by searching related blogs for links. In Google, search this phrase: link:relatedblog.com Make sure relatedblog.com is written as a blog that is related. This will list all the links back to their blog letting you know where to start looking to get links to your blog.

2. Search Google.com/blogsearch for related blogs. I tend to add the phrase blogspot in there because blogspot blogs are the easiest to get your comment approved vs wordpress.com blogs which always seem to get marked as spam.

If you have a website and want people to do something for you, one of the best ways is through a website promotion. This can include prizes and gifts if the people that visit your website do what you want them to you. Whether it is a daily gift giveaway for subscribing or a random prize giveaway for people who write on your forum, or comment on your blog, this can significantly help grow your blog traffic.

Why I Offer Prizes and Gifts On My Website
Sometimes people need a little incentive. The thought of winning something can be just enough motivation to get my websites growing without spending a lot of money. One of the current deals on some of my forums is that if they start 100 new topics they get a t shirt. Though 100 sounds like a lot in order to get a prize or gift, it actually has motivated more people to start writing for me.

They get the tshirt and I get even more additional advertising (when they wear the t shirt). Plus, they will want to wear the tshirt because they worked for it. This might motivate other people they tell to want to write on the forum too. Overall offering prizes and gifts can multiply your traffic greatly.

I tend to stay away from monetary prizes and stick with something like a tshirt or other prize that could cost any amount. This way they aren’t working for $5, but rather something that could be worth 5, 10, or even 20 dollars depending on how the person values it.

There are different ways to get traffic to your blog and the two best ways are search engine traffic and paid traffic. Search engine traffic comes organically from good SEO and search engines crawling your websites. You receive paid traffic from keywords you pay for often pay per click with services like Google Adwords or MSN Adcenter.

Of the two Organic Search Engine Traffic is of course cheaper, but it takes more effort and time to get things going. Paid Traffic on the other hand gets things moving faster allowing you to pay for the terms you want and possibly generate sales and revenue much faster.

Which Way To Get Traffic is Better?
I would combine both methods to get things moving. Use paid traffic to get your website going, and continue to work on organic search engine traffic to save money later.

How many blogs actually have original content with new thoughts and ideas vs just rewriting other people content and ideas. In school many of us rather than writing our own original content took information from multiple books and internet sources and just rewrote them. Writing original content was hard enough because who really was an expertise on topics like history in high school?

When it comes to blogging, there are those with original content, those that actually report new information, vs those who just rewrite the information that is already out there. While you might think original content is often the best way to go about writing your blog, sometimes rewriting works better.

Rewriting Original Content
Blogs can be used to provide more specific information like a blog only about laptop computers. Basically you would be compliling information across the web. However if you just straight copy information from other blogs that leads to legal issues. If you rewrite information or present it in a new way, such as commonly known facts and writing about those, then the content is much more original. Sometimes I take information and rewrite it to be funny, making it fit into creative liscenses.

No blogger can be expected to go to all the different events around the world, cover all the news storys, etc. Sometimes all a blogger can do is rewrite content. While I don’t believe in straight up copying information, I do believe in providing sources whenever they ar eused. Besides, Google can give you some extra points for providing links.

There are a few ways to get some easy links back to your blog or website without much effort. In fact getting these links isn’t cheating the system or paying for links. In fact the best way to get links to a website or blog is easy.

There are in fact three ways I’ve discovered to get some links from high page ranking websites.

1. Try social bookmarking. This is a great way to get links back to your site with little effort. Sure you might not get the traffic you wanted from places like propeller but it does count as a link from a page rank 7 website. Try digg, propeller, etc and start social bookmarking your articles.
2. Try writing articles for article websites. Try using ArticleSubmitAuto which will automatically submit your articles to the top 20 directorys.
3. Forum linking. Try posting your links in forums. I personally like to use yahoo answers since I can specifically answer questions.

That’s is all there is to it. Use these three easy strategies to get more links to your blog and website!

You wakeup in the morning and your wordpress website is completely blank. Nothing shows up and you can not log into your wordpress admin. That is also blank. There are a number of ways to fix a wordpress website that shows up blank.

1. Try removing all of your plugins. Sometimes a plugin might act up and cause your entire website to go down. You have to physically remove all the plugins to fix a blank wordpress site.
2. Try deleting your themes. Then login in to yoursite.com/wp-admin.
3. Try overwriting all of your wordpress files except wp-config.
4. Still doesn’t fix your blank wordpress problem? Delete everything and start over. This may be the only solution.

As long as your mysql data is still there (where all the data and posts for your website are contained) then you should be able to un blank your website.

This happened to me this morning, I wokeup and for no reason at all my wordpress websites did not work. After reinstalling everything they no longer were blank. That was a huge pain in the neck but it worked.

Once my website was reported as an attack site. This was not good news for me. Anyone visiting my website was informed that my site was a reported attack site and that they should leave now. This brought my site traffic down from 300 visits a day to barely anything.

Why Was My Site Reported as an Attack Site?
My website was hacked. A little code was inserted that made any visiters download a small code thanks to an iframe. Anyone visiting the site recieved a virus. However, even after removing the small code and changing all my passwords, my site remained an attack site to search engines.

How I removed the Reported Attack Site Warning
Removing this warning was not as difficult as one would imagine. First I made sure my website was 100% free and clear of viruses. Then I simply visited http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_error/?tpl=mozilla. Fortunately the problem was resolved overnight. My traffic quickly returned to normal levels and all was well again with my websites!

So many people believe that Google Adsense is the best and only way to earn money online. While Google Adsense works well on some websites to earn money, it is not the best way to advertise on other websites.

If your website is getting a low ECPM (earnings per thousand) using Google Adsense, maybe it is time to change. While Google can give me really good ECPM on some of my sites, other sites it performs very poorly. Google Adsense is not the end all solution for all publishers. There are plenty of ways to get advertising revenue outside of Adsense. Sites like PayPerPost, Infolinks, Chitika, etc, all provide additional revenue sources.

So before you consider that Google Adsense is your only advertising solution, consider some of the alternatives.

So Google believes that it needs to change it’s structure of search engine techniques with the new Google 2.0 Search Engine. This new Google 2.0 search engine has been dubbed, Google Caffeine. It is supposed to be faster, have better results than the current engine and help Google remain the supreme search engine.

The big question is, how will the new Google 2.0 Search Engine effect web publishers? Will this hurt them or help them? By changing the algorithms, it could change how much search engine you recieve on your current blog / website.

The new web developer preview for the Google Caffeine 2.0 search engine is available here: http://www2.sandbox.google.com

Currently Google needs some feedback between “public google” and the “google caffeine” results.

Will this be good or bad for you? Try searching some of your best keywords with the new sandbox developer preview to see how you rank.
