Review of 17.3″ Acer Aspire 7738 Notebook

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I recently purchased the Acer Aspire 7738 as my next desktop replacement, since it hsa a 17.3″ screen, T6500 2.1 ghz duo core processor and 3 gb of DDR3 SDRAM.  The main compelling feature for me was the GeForce GT 130M ddr3 video graphics card also included which makes modern gaming at high rates possible.

When someone travels as much as I do, lugging around a desktop, even a portable slim desktop would be a pain.  This is where a notebook like the 17.3″ Acer Aspire 7738 comes into play.  The screen is still large enough not to feel small like the 10.1  inch screen on my netbook.  Though it doesn’t have quad-core technology, 2.1 ghz duo core is still fast enough for most processes considering that it does still have the ddr3 technology built in.

For $700 the 17.3″ Acer Aspire 7738 is still a great deal and with the keyboard similar to the Mac Book Pro it’s easy enough to use without feeling cheap.

The Sony Daily Edition Reader Release, Review

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

The new Sony Daily Edition is supposed to be one of the real first competitive e-reader devices to the Kindle from Amazon. The $399 Sony Reader Daily Edition will be ready to read by December according to Sony executives. Much like the Kindle, the Sony Daily Edition will be able to get books, daily newspapers and other reading material from AT&T Inc.’s cellular network. This probably means that your favorite blogs will be available also.

One reason to pick up a new reader like the Sony Daily Edition is the presence of free books like books from Robert Patterson, Joseph Finder’s “Paranoia” and even Keyes’ “The Briar King.”

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

Now you can have your own robot cat for as little as $110 straight from Japan. This robot dream cat Venus is actually made by Sega and is actually the second verison after their Yume Neko, the highly-anticipated robotic cat.

This Robot Drean Cat Venus has plenty of applications, even for the elderly. It has been thought such a robot cat would make a perfect robotic companion for the eldery since it requires little up keep and can give an elderly person the feeling of some kind of companionship.

Will Dream Cat Venus type toys be the new standard for stuffed animals? Maybe we’ll have robot bears that can talk like in the movie A.I.?
