Get unblocked from Digg, Banned from Digg

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Its happened, I’ve been banned by Digg a third time. They just don’t seem to like the fact that I submit all my articles to them. Is that really spamming? In case you don’t know what Digg is, it is a social networking site where you can submit your articles. Users can then add “points” to an article. This site is great to use to find new readers to visit your site. Unfortunately I’ve been banned time and time again. Will that stop this evil website marketer? No, I’m just going to create a new screen name and continue to submit articles from this site.

Get unblocked from Digg
When you submit the same website to Digg constantly on every new post, eventually Digg is going to block your website. If this happens, no one will be able to submit anymore webpages from that site. Your account might also end up blocked completely.

Ways to unblock a Digg block/hold on your account

  1. Create a new user name if your user name has been blocked.
  2. Use a redirection service. I host my blog through Blogger, so myblog.com/newarticle is the same as myblog.blogspot.com/newarticle. Both addresses will send you to the same place. Digg doesn’t recognize that these are the same website.
  3. Use Hyfeno’s redirection service. Hyfeno offers a completely free redirection service with no signups needed. With bounce.hyfeno.com you can hide the Url of your post. Digg won’t see myblog.blogspot.com/newpost rather bounce.hyfeno.com/newarticle

How to Write Good Blog Articles for More Money

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

If you are blogging for dollars, like the tend seems to be, you might have realized how difficult it can be to write good articles. Good articles will effectively lead to you making more money, since who wants to read bad articles? I’ve written bad articles, probably too many. I’ve been attempting to redeem myself by putting more time and thought into my blog posts. Shouldn’t you do the same? Or is this just another bad blog article?

Stick with a style
I’ve been known to dibble and dabble in writing what I call “good articles”. I’ve changed my style, including the layout of this blog more than once. I did a lot of experimenting and have finally started settling down on a style. Bloggers want to know what to expect when they visit your blog. Your visitors visit your blog for a reason and be sure to offer them the same thing again and again. Remember, good blog articles don’t have any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, fix them as soon as you notice them.

Make it easy to understand the content
I like to make sub headings in each blog like the one I just made “make it easy to understand the content”. This makes it easy to look through, see what I’m writing about and know what to expect in each blog post.

Repeat your title in your blog post for SEO
Though it seems a little strange to repeat what you wrote in your blog title over and over again, I do it for a reason. Good blog articles are not just about the content, you also want people to be able to find them when they search for them in a search engine. Repeated the title of your post is used for Search Engine Optimation purposes. Google looks at the title of the page and then looks to see how many times those are repeated in your article. Say someone searches for “How to write good blog articles”. Google is going to look through my article and see “blog articles” repeated throughout my post and then realize, oh, this post must be about blog articles and therefore give me better chances to have my “good blog articles” rank higher on certain keyword terms.

Blogging can be depressing!
Don’t worry if no one is reading what you write, just keep chugging away at those good articles. I’ve been more or not depressed that no one has been reading my articles and at times when my reader subscription has fallen. You wonder things like what am I doing wrong? Having a great blog full of great posts can in any case be used to get you freelance positions. Use your blog as a representation of your best work.

Do I Need a New Blog Template?

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Since looking around on the internet, I’ve started to notice how many blog seems to be looking a little old, maybe even outdated.. In the meantime I’ve been developing a new template to spruce is up. Take for example the blog underneath my snapshot. Better design right?

Here is a listing of some of my favorite places to look for new themes

Free templates for Wordpress Online:
Freewordpressthemes.com – A great selection of themes, probably the best I’ve seen.
themes.wordpress.net – Basic themes, but easy to choose the theme you are looking for.

Free templates for Blogger:
FinalSense.com – I found the basis for this blog here. The best themes out there.
Gecko and Fly – The other really great place to get free blogger themes, check out K2.

Which is Better Blogger or Wordpress?
Though I use Blogger, I would have to say Wordpress. Wordpress has many more plugins in support. Blogger is simply easier for me to use and much easier to code. However, on the downside there is much less support for Blogger than their is for Wordpress.
