Get Free 25gb storage space from SkyDrive

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

If you needed some extra online storage space to save whatever you wanted from movies to games or mp3, SkyDrive is offering a completely free 25gb of space.  A typical amount of free storage space is usually 5gb, making this seem like an incredible offer.  However, we’ve seen alternatives before which went belly up after only a few months.

Improvements of the SkyDrive Service
We’ve seen SkyDrive gradually improve their service quality over the last few months. Now with a full 25gbs, the service seems worth to use, just make sure SkyDrive isn’t your only backed up location for files and folders. As I’ve had happen in the past, the best way to be safe with your stored materials is to backup everything in at least two locations, preferably not in the same room.

Some newer features include; an online slide show for your photos. Control over your online data such as download photos directly to Windows Live Photo Gallery, download as a zip file, move files between folders and copy files to multiple folders. Increasing the display size of photos.

Any new user can benefit from a free SkyDrive account. sign up via this link.

Add Facebook Friends to Outlook and Windows Mobile, Fonebook

Monday, September 1st, 2008

To make your life easier, a program called Fonebook will take all your facebook contacts and add them to outlook which can then be synced up with Windows Mobile.  This will also take your friends Facebook photos and update them as they change them so you have their picture on your phone when they call.

What Fonebook will not do: It won’t grab their email addresses and phone numbers.  Though they claim this is a privacy issue, if it was listed anyway, why not grab it for us, to make our life easier?

Fonebook will: Grab all of our contacts, so if you have a million friends, you will have a million contacts.  This could be information overload for your outlook contact list.

You can get the software from Ross Dargan via this link.

Orb, Watch Your Tv, Pictures, Videos Anywhere

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Orb has been available for quite sometime, but there recent update to version 2.0 has caught my attention. Orb lets you watch you watch your home television, pictures, videos anywhere without downloading anything.

How it Works
You need to have two computers to use Orb. The main computer that holds all the pictures, Tv, Videos, needs to be running the Orb software. It needs to have a Tv card if you want to share your Tv over the Internet.
After you have a computer with Orb running, you can simply log on to any other computer in the world connected to the Internet and log on to Orb. Now you will have full access to your data and be able to watch your local Tv channels anywhere you are.

Cable Tv Anywhere
I plan to have a computer with Orb connected to my parents cable Tv, so I can watch American Tv while I am away in Germany. (Not much American Tv there.) Or I wouldn’t mind watching it while I am stuck in a hotel in the middle of nowhere. There are plenty of practical reasons for using Orb.

Gameboy Games Emulated Online

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Miss your Gameboy system? Now you can play them directly online via the Java Script Gameboy provided by home.lv. Remember those old Gameboy games like Mario and Zelda?

All your favorites can be played for free without any required download (except Java if you don’t have it already). I spent more time than I should have wasting time playing a gameboy on a screen much smaller than my laptop screen. It feels almost like having a rule gameboy except for the fact that the “Gameboy” is just a picture of a gameboy, and you have to use your keyboard for the controls. In any case, visit home.lv and play some awesome Super Mario Land.

Support
According to the site: It supports 500+ GB Games, GameBoy emulators with full functions Sound, Save Game, Joystick support and more…
