Watch Free Cable Tv Online

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Watching Free Cable TV online is slightly possible with the following list of free streaming channels on the internet. My list uses SopCast and TVUPlayer. Free Cable TV online channels with TVUPlayer have to be watch on the TVPlayer that needs to be downloaded.

Overall the quality could be better, but beggars can’t be choosers. You’ll be able to watch in full screen with reasonable quality. Use a TV to Computer card and its “almost like having Free Cable TV. Maybe it’s easier to just pay for it?

Watching full length episodes on ABC and Comedy Central

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Unfortunately this function usually only works in the USA. I tried watching a few episodes over here in Germany, but unfortunately I am blocked from the network.

What does ABC offer? Currently on their website, they are streaming full episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Ugly Betty. The stream, for those who can view it, is shown in good quality and also cuts out most of those annoying commericals shown during its prime time showing.

Another good site to watch some full length episodes is on Comedy Central’s website. Here they stream clips and videos from almost all of their shows. Now you can always get your daily dose of John Stewart and the Colbert Report.

Zattoo, Free Tv From Europe

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Missing out on some channels from Europe? Zattoo on the downside takes up a lot of bandwidth… upto 400 Kbps.
The other downside is that the service is currently restricted to Switzerland, Denmark, Spain and the United Kingdom.
But don’t fret, it is expected to expand to other European countries, as well as the USA and Canada. If this program works for you, let me know. I am really curious to how well it really works.

Joost, from the makers of skype

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Right below the radar, is a new tv on pc program that was just introduced. Joost, a new media program from the skype creators, is supposed to change the way we watch tv.

However, in order to download and use this program you need to get an invite from one of the lucky people who got to download it first. Lucky for you I am able to send a few people invites in order to try out Joost. The first two posts will get invites.

What is Joost anyways?
The first unusual thing is the way that Joost starts up on the monitor as full screen. Once Joost is started up, you are able to choose from a number of categories ranging from music, to sports, to travel, adventure, and animation. Many will enjoy the MTV, Comedy Central and Fifth Gear channels. By using Joost you are able to watch old epsiodes as well as various clips.

Personally I find the concept unique, but do not expect too much from it. As it is still in Beta, there aren’t too many channels to choose from.
