Grand Central is still in beta!  Anyone with a Grand Central account can consider themselves lucky as Grand Central still sits in beta. We tried to create a free Grand Central account months ago, but here we sit still waiting.  Just for fun we tried to register a new Grand Central Account and recieved this message:

“Thank you for your interest in GrandCentral. We will let you know as soon as we open up our service to more users. At that time you will be able to choose the specific phone number that you would like to use. We will make all possible efforts to ensure there are numbers in the area code or city you have selected, but there may be some areas where we won’t have coverage. We’ll do our best.

The Grand Central Team ”

Why we want a Grand Central Account so Badly!

1. One number that rings different phones based on who’s calling

2. Personalize your voicemail greetings by caller or group

3. Switch phones in the middle of a call

4. Let people call you from a web page without showing your number

It’s like lord of the numbers, one number to rule them all.  Even though there hasn’t been much word on the future of Grand Central, the service is still alive and running. we just wonder, when is Google going to do something more with this service than just leave it up as Beta?
