Landline phones usually do not allow the ability to receive text messages, that is until we use text to landline services which are provided by companies like Sprint and Verizon.

What is Text to Landline?

The Text to Landline service converts text messages into voice messages which can be sent to most listed residential phone numbers in the United States.

How do I use this service?

1. Create a text message as if you were sending a text message to another mobile phone
2. Enter the phone number of the person, including the area code: Example: 9991234567
3. Press Send

Currently there aren’t really any free options for this besides a service such as wakerupper.com which will allow us to send free wakeup calls by converting text to speech.

We have been able to send free text message for quite some time with such services as http://textforfree.net/, which allows you to send a free sms to most cell phone services.
