Thanks to voip we can see an increase in work at home call centers.  The increasing number is due to facts like the prevalence of voip and the time it can save from commuting.
Now Inclarity, a leader in the hosted VoIP market, claims to have the solution to call centre staff problems by enabling them to work from home.

A big advantage for companies is not having to support a large building and other financially draining problems associated with running a big office full of people. The big advantage for staff is that they can often spend the time they would have used in unpaid traveling, in paid work.”

Just think now when a kid is sick at home, a mom can still go to work right from home. Kids can be stay at home moms and still work. The main problem that voip-news pointed out is the inability to monitor what employees what they do as they work from home. This is probably on the most hesitant factors before companies decide that employees can work from home.
