Aim had offered free incoming and even a voip service that opened up to a certain amount of users and then closed to any new registrations.  Well now AIM has just shutdown for good, having not been able to really come up with a business model that works.

Yahoo had their own voip service previously which turned into JaJah.  We had hopes that AIM voip would work out, but alas, all has failed and Aim Voip is permanantly cancelled. 

Our recommendation? If you use Aim Voip, spend your credit because there is no telling if you will even get a refund. If you have a lot of credit left, start emailing them or calling to get that refund back!

The service will shutdown for good March 25, 2009.
