Example: I want to call Germany from my cell phone while in the US.  I call connectmeanywhere’s local number and they connect me to Germany for 2.5 cents per minute.  If I would call with my local carrier I’d probably pay at least 2 dollars per minute. (I once ran a $100 phone bill very quickly calling internationally.)

When buying credit you can purchase units in 5, 10, 20 or 50.

Though i haven’t personally tried connectmeanywhere, it seems so far to be a pretty good option for calling internationally without any voip equipent.

I’ve tried using the number today without much success. Usually we use numbers like these to connect ourselves with someone else, but I’m usually pretty evil and connect two friends together. Imagine their confusion when one friend calls another and has no idea what is going on.

How does it work?
They route your call to your friend over the Internet whenever you are using barablu on a mobile or a PC, instead of through the more traditional mobile operator, or landline route. In order to get full free mobile call features, you have to have two phones with the Barablu software.

Overall?
I’d say this is a pretty useless service. Who needs German to German landline calls. Besides, these numbers are already free in Germany…

It works with most Phone calls, but not all international numbers will work. For example. I couldn’t call my girlfriend via her German cell phone, rather it only worked with landlines…
