Finally you can use Google Voice with your Windows Mobile Voip Phone. In fact any phone using windows mobile can add in this little program and be able to dial out using Google Voice. The program to do this was written by Lonnie Langle. He added three lines of code to Microsoft’s Calling Card demo for Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK R2.

After installing this Google Voice for Windows Mobile program, your Contacts list will have new menu options to dial using Google Voice.

Finally the download of Skype for the iPhone will offer a cheap solution for those looking to take advantage of cheap voip calls on the iPhone. With Skype on the iPhone users will be able to take full advantage of using Skype, such as Skype to Skype calls among other cheap international calls that Skype offers.

Grand Central is now Google Voice, User Accounts Open?

Google has finally taken a step forward with Grand Central turning it into the new Google Voice service. Does that mean users can finally sign up with new accounts? Unfortunately no. Google Voice is limited to previous Grand Central account users only. However, we are hopeful that the new switch to Google Voice means that Google is still interested in the project and will eventually open up to new applicants for the service.

Google does promise to open the service up to everyone. In their question and answers page, Google states: “We expect to have the service ready for new users in a matter of weeks, and are focused on opening it as soon as possible.”

The iPhone has been around awhile, so it isn’t too of the oridnary to realize that there are also some great voip apps available for the iPhone to make voip calls and make better use of the expensive phone bill you pay monthly just to have an iPhone.

TruPhone for the iPhone
Now if you ever wanted to make low price calls from GSM without voip, TruPhone has you covered. They offer low-priced international calls via the GSM network. The best feature is if you dial an international number, the iPhone app does not use iPhone’s data network but the call is redirected to a Truphone access number in your country.

Fring for the iPhone
Even more popular for making voip calls through the iPhone is the fring software. This allows you to call regular phones using either SkypeOut or SIP over Wi-Fi. Fring also includes an all in one IM for Skype, Google, ICQ, MSN, Twitter, AIM, and Yahoo contacts.

We’ve heard that recently those in the Middle East have experience their voip services being blocked. Though this is quite unfortunate, there are options to unblock your voip services in the Middle East.

How to Unblock Middle East
Usually we use a program called Hotspot Shield which we have used to watch American TV while in Europe. However this little program also let you unblock voip, even if you are in the Middle East.

What Hotspot Shield does is diguise your signal and route it through another country. This means that those in the Middle East can freely use voip without being detected.

Steps
1) Download Hotspot Shield (Mirror)
2) Click “Run Hotspot Shield”

Now you should be able to access voip.

iSkoot Available for G Phone, Voip Software for G Phone

A voip application has been released for the G Phone with iSkoot now available for G phone users. iSkoot has so far allowed Skype use on windows mobile. With the early voip application, G Phone users can start off using Skype early, hopefully saving them for using using up all of their T Mobile users.

To make calls with Skype, you will need credit. However, you can make free calls using services like 1800free411. Just call the number and ask to be connected for free with the number you need. Otherwise to avoid that work around, Skype itself has pretty competitve rates, as low as 1.9 cents per minute.
