Did you know you can make some free voip calls using the service Opomi? By topping up and getting credit Opomi gets you plenty of free minutes, but if you just want to try them out, Opomi also is a great option for just getting free trial calls.
If you wanted to use Opomi without ever buying credit, Opomi offers the ability to make free 15 minute trial calls, twice per account without credit. This means that as long as you keep registering free voip accounts with Opomi you’ll get 30 minutes of free calling time. Sure it’s a bit annoying to register account after account, but that is the price of using the system without buying credit.

A call to india is now available for free thanks to a new gift code with dial simple that will let you talk for 30 minutes. This deal won’t last forever, so if you want to save up on your voip minutes, here is a great time to do it.
We haven’t had terrible too much experience with dialsimple. The rates are low, but as for the trust issue. We would recommend just using the 30 minutes to try out the service, call India for awhile, then buy credit.

Bigfoot communications is offering conference calls for a total of 125 minutes for completely free. With this service you can make a group telephone conference via the Bigfoot service.
Honestly Bigfoot provides nothing you can’t aready do a standard phone, contacting mutiple people together. Plus, services like skype are overall better for communication calls.
Since in any case I am writing a post about the free 125 minutes, what you will get is 2 hours of free conference calling, which hopefully is enough time to wrap up any conference call you might need.

A new Betamax clone has arrive, Smartvoip providing like most betamax services, free international calls. SmartVoip has a listing of major destinations which you can call for free, directly using their software.
Some free destintions include: Canada, China, France, Germany, Spain, Singapore, USA… etc… Also impressive is the rate to call Germany cell phones at only $0.09 euro cents per minute.
Cheap Calls to India?
SmartVoip is offering calls to India at only 1.5 eurocents per minute to India landline and 2 eurocents per minute to India mobile.
Our Recommendation?
Like we do with most Betamax services, we end up creating 100s of accounts to make calls to the free destinations. After a certain point the free calls run out, but we just make another account, as simple as that.
Do you want your kids to learn to use a BlackBerry early? US President Obama is practically a spokesperson for the device, using it daily, should our kids have one too? No this BlackBerry doesn’t have voip, or even real internet, but it has all the keys like a real one, so kids can be just like their parents.
With this so called “Baby” BlackBerry from LeapFrog, Kids can play games and even learn some computer skills. This allows young kids to imitate their parents, send text messages, and “browse the web”.

The iPhone has been around awhile, so it isn’t too of the oridnary to realize that there are also some great voip apps available for the iPhone to make voip calls and make better use of the expensive phone bill you pay monthly just to have an iPhone.
TruPhone for the iPhone
Now if you ever wanted to make low price calls from GSM without voip, TruPhone has you covered. They offer low-priced international calls via the GSM network. The best feature is if you dial an international number, the iPhone app does not use iPhone’s data network but the call is redirected to a Truphone access number in your country.
Get it direct from the app store: via iTunes
Fring for the iPhone
Even more popular for making voip calls through the iPhone is the fring software. This allows you to call regular phones using either SkypeOut or SIP over Wi-Fi. Fring also includes an all in one IM for Skype, Google, ICQ, MSN, Twitter, AIM, and Yahoo contacts.

We expect more apps to come, but with Apple’s close watch it can be hard for more developers to get their own software running on the iPhone.
The service Localphone is giving away free voip calls for the Chinese New Year. The free calls will be available during the entire Chinese New Year starting on January 26. Each day of the festival the firt 20 minutes of calls to Chinese landlines or mobiles each day will be completely free, which comes to a massive 5 hours of free talk time over the 15 days.
What to keep in mind (from Localphone):
The Chinese New Year promotion begins at 00:00 China Standard Time (GMT +8) on 26th January and ends at 23:59:59 on 9th February 2009. Any calls made to China during this period will be charged at the standard rate of 0.8p per minute and after the promotion has completed you will receive a rebate in the form of Localphone credit for the first twenty minutes of call time used each day.
This means that you will get refunded the calls later. We don’t see why we can’t have the calls free now, but this might be a move to get people to buy credit.

The service LetsCall.Me is offering free anonymous phone numbers that will connect anyone to your home number, yet leaving it anonymous so you can feel free to block any callers or change your number completely.
How LetsCall.Me works is that it creates a webpage for you http://letscall.me/YOURNAME. Users go to this webpage and enter in their home number. Their phone will ring. After they pick up, your phone will ring with their number. They however will never know your real number, leaving it completely anonymous.
This is a great idea for anyone who wants to keep their phone number anonymous, yet allow anyone, perhaps website subscribers to call.
Just head over to LetsCall.Me to get started.
Now to use a softphone for sip, you can use your browser to make sip based calls rather than having to download software. Doddling provides this basic service for free and you can share your sip phone service just by embedding the script on your website/blog.
Doddling’s free browser sip phone is pretty basic, but it gets the job done. Just insert your Sip Proxy and Sip Realm and you are all set. Already Doddling has some defaults set up for you already including Gizmo and Tpad.
Using Doddling is pretty easy:
1. Visit Doddling.
2. Enter your VoIP Realm, Proxy, ID, and Password
3. Login
4. Make a phone call
For about 6 days more, reliance iCall will let you call a number of destinations for free using their new voip service.
Until January 15th the following destinations will be completely free:
USA
Canada
UK

China
After this date we aren’t sure what Reliance iCall will charge for making voip calls. At least there is about 6 days of free calls, after which we will gladly switch back to JustVoip.com which we’ve been using for free now for the last year (just by creating a new account about every other day).
