Thanks for the link. To clarify: Chocolate Doom is only an open source Doom _engine_, ie. the program itself and none of the game material. You still need to buy Doom to get the original IWAD files in order to play.

There is a separate project called “Freedoom” which is creating the other half: a free IWAD file. Combining Freedoom with a GPL source port, you get a completely Free Softare Doom engine-based game.
