Importance of Blog Design for Traffic

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Though you can design your blog anyway you want, blog traffic can be influenced by the actual design of your blog. Though I haven’t changed the blog design on this blog for over a year, I’ve experimented with other sites such as SampleADay.com and CanadaSamples.com and seen positive results after changing the design to something more professional.

You can win a reader over with your blog content, but to get them to continue reading, you need a blog design that doesn’t look spammy or unprofessional. By adding your own custom design, you can help make your blog design look more original and credible. On SampleADay.com I even added my own Avatar of myself for a more personal effect.

When it comes down to it, free blog templates are cheap, but they make your blog look like everyone else’s. If you are getting decent traffic, pay for a professinal design or at least design it yourself.

Expanding Your Blog With Related Blogs

Monday, December 21st, 2009

One of the best ways to expand your blog (and your traffic) is by creating new blogs related to your current content. Why create a bunch of unrelated blog with no interlinking opportunities, when you could expand your current efforts with a string of blogs all interrelated?

I’ve noticed plenty of websites out there even creating multiple blogs with the exact same content? Yes I’m saying you can successful expand your efforts doing the exact same thing. Now keep in mind expanding with the exact same blog over and over necessarily won’t always work.

Why not focus on creating new blogs foceused on only one category for better seo?

Search Blogs For Fresh Free Content

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Each day I have to write my blogs, and really no one has 365 days of fresh content. Many writers won’t admit that lots of their blog’s content comes actually from other blogs, but creatively. While it is not that legal to just straight up steal a blog’s content, many writers rewrite the content of other blogs that are related to the topic they want to write about. However, it make this original, writers give a fresh perspective.

To make this easier to understand, if I want to write about something, but I don’t have the information I’ll compile information from multiple blogs and write it in a unique way.

Usually I use google.com/blogsearch to search blogs for what content I want to write about. This usually seems to work better than just a standard google search. Other methods I use include using news.yahoo.com or even news.google.com.

Best Ways To Get Links To Your Blog

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

If you have a blog or a website you need websites linking to your blog to boost your page rank which will lead to better search results for your website. One way to do this is through getting links to your blogs. But what are the best ways to find and get links linking back to your blog?

Find Your Competitor’s Blog Links

1. You can easily find good links to your blog by searching related blogs for links. In Google, search this phrase: link:relatedblog.com Make sure relatedblog.com is written as a blog that is related. This will list all the links back to their blog letting you know where to start looking to get links to your blog.

2. Search Google.com/blogsearch for related blogs. I tend to add the phrase blogspot in there because blogspot blogs are the easiest to get your comment approved vs wordpress.com blogs which always seem to get marked as spam.
