Expanding Your Blog With Related Blogs

Monday, December 21st, 2009

One of the best ways to expand your blog (and your traffic) is by creating new blogs related to your current content. Why create a bunch of unrelated blog with no interlinking opportunities, when you could expand your current efforts with a string of blogs all interrelated?

I’ve noticed plenty of websites out there even creating multiple blogs with the exact same content? Yes I’m saying you can successful expand your efforts doing the exact same thing. Now keep in mind expanding with the exact same blog over and over necessarily won’t always work.

Why not focus on creating new blogs foceused on only one category for better seo?

Duplicate Blogs To Capture Multiple Keywords

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I’ve been toying with the idea of building mutiple blogs off the same topics to capture multiple keywords. Why not build some mutiple blogs with different keywords in your .com. Lets say one blog is FreeTelephones.com and the other is HowToTelephones.com and another is TelephoneGadgets.com. Would you be better of making many blogs rather than just one for capturing many keywords?

My thoughts are 1) Building multiple duplicate blogs is a lot of work. 2) More chances to get a high page rank on one blog, vs trying to get good page ranks on many blogs. 3) You could have a good linking strategy between your blogs for easy backlinks.

So you can use duplicate blogs to capture multiple keywords. This strategy can work wonders with the right domain names. I would suggest always trying to purchase your exact keyword.com. Something like YourKEYWORD1a.com won’t work the same as KEYWORD.com.

I write many  different blogs each day, sometimes I feel a number that is too many.  Certain signs have started to show up that is starting to tell me that yes, I write too many different blogs.

Signs I Write Too Many Blog Posts
1. I post the wrong posts on the wrong blogs.  My recipe blog post ends up on my internet phone site, etc.
2. My posts become short because I’m sick of writing
3. I don’t bother to fill in the category or keyword tags
4. I forget which blogs I need to write because there are so many.
5. My blog posts stop making sense because I’m thinking of too different topics at once.
6. I don’t enjoy writing any more because I do too much of it.

Whenever your mind starts getting scrambled and your blogs don’t make any sense anymore, maybe its time for 1) a break 2) to hire a writer.

Ways to Keep Yourself Motivated

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Motivation is one of the things that keeps me going. By being motivated its something which drives me to accomplish better and keep going forward. The problem is that it is also easy to become de-motivated. We fall into old habits and start losing any will to continue.

Take blogs for example. So many people are motivated at the start and believe they are going to turn their blog into something grand, and post a couple times everyday. The problem is that most blog writers by the end of the first month, get less, lose their motivation and end up just abandoning their blog altogether.

How I Keep Myself Motivated
1. Turn it into a habit – I try to turn my goals into a habit. Rather than plunging in say with a new blog. I’ll post 1 new post each day the first week, then the second week increase it to two posts per day. This way I’ll gradually turn this into a habit.
2. Monitoring my progress – I will constantly monitor my improvements. With blogs for example I will check how much my traffic has increased day by day. With exercise I’ll track my weight. As long as you monitor your progress you can see that you are actually improving.
3. Inspirational stories – I use the stories of those that have accomplished what I want to accomplish as my inspiration to stay motivated.
