Typical Day of a Blogger, A Day in the Life of a Blogger

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

I’m sure what counts as typical for a Blogger ranges like their does topics for blogs, but a day in the life of my blog is the key topic, in my attempt to give an example of how the Blogger lifestyle is quite different than any typical 9 to 5 office job.

blogging life

My Typical Blogger Day
Wake up – Whenever I wakeup (there is no set time), I first check my earnings from the day before, my email (I check my email only twice per day), and then look at any incoming news in my iGoogle (all my favorite feeds online).

Work – I’ll start my day as a blogger, getting a few posts done for each of my blogs.  I’ll make sure to cover any relevant news, as well as any important topics I needed to get done.

Lunch Break – I’ll use this time to exercise for about a half hour, eat a small lunch (usually fish or chicken breast).  I find exercising each day is important, not only for my body health, but also self confidence. Studies have proven that exercising can increase your self confidence.

Start Blogging Again – A blogger needs to blog, so I’ll once again start writing.  Once I feel I’ve written enough, or there is nothing more relevant to post, I stop and shut the laptop screen or the whole pc altogether.  Every blogger needs a mental escape from their laptop.

Mental Exercising - I try to stay away from the boob tube and spend more time reading, practicing my German, and start future goals, like learning another language (Spanish?)

Being a blogger is the best job I’ve ever had.  It offers the ultimate freedom to live wherever you want, and work almost whenever you want.  If you need to escape the 9 to 5, blogging is one of the best ways out there…

How to Increase Your Wealth, Get Richer in One Day

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Here it is, the true way to increase your wealth and get richer in just one day.  They don’t tell you true story behind increasing your wealth.  Getting richer doesn’t involve schemes, plans, or secret guidebooks.

To increase your wealth you need to:

1) Decrease your wants.  If you can resist media temptation and want less, you are richer already.

2) Find happiness without possessions. Does it take a new tv to make you happy? Sometimes volunteering or participating in an activity in a group is more rewarding than that new tv you purchased.  Wealth isn’t always measure by the amount of things you own.

3)  Live practical.  If a car gets you from A to B does it matter what it cost?  Do you really need a mansion or is a small 2 bedroom house more than enough?

4) Live behind the times.  If you live behind the times, you can afford everything that is a few years old much more than the newest technology.  For me an X-Box would be a step up.  Now you can pick up an X-Box original for cheap since everyone wants the latest and greatest.  Living a bit farther behind lets you enjoy more for less.

Conclusion on increasing your wealth

When I was growing up I thought it would be great to have wealth to buy things, and the key to happiness was building wealth.  Wealth does equal less worry, but not happiness.  Now I’ve reduced what I own to two suitcases full of stuff.  I don’t own a car, or a bike.

To me now, wealth is more about the value you get out of your daily life.  If you like life and form meaningful experiences, that is more than you will ever get out of the latest Playstation, or fast sports car.

As Benjamin Franklin once said “There are two ways to increase your wealth. Increase your means or decrease your wants.”
