Making Money By Blogging Online, A Fun Job?

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

It feels like making money is like just a day of hanging out talking with friends, and at the same time making a lot of money at a fun job.  Sure I make money online for a living, but would I do this even if I wasn’t making any money? Most certainly.  Before I started making any money online I used to spend a few hours a day surfing, chatting with friends and just developing websites for free. The only difference now? I get paid for what I do.

So my basic point is, blogging online can be a fun job, as long as you love doing it.  Any hobby that you can turn into a job that pays the bills is going to be the best job you ever have.

I have friends that studied languages and now for a living they teach them, since they enjoyed learning them so much.  I have other friends who loved fixing stuff, so they became mechanics.  Then those friends who loved animals became vetrinarians.  Do what you love and turn it into a career.

So blogging online can be the best way to make money, if its something you enjoy.  If you aren’t a computer person, or enjoy writing, or even going online, then you might want to rethink the whole making money online idea..

Make Money Selling Your Stuff on eBay Makes Sense

Friday, February 13th, 2009

I’ve heard so many stories about people getting “rich” off Ebay.  They sell their stuff in an online eBay store and turn it into a solid business.  While eBay won’t make you rich, selling stuff on eBay is a great way to make some money quick.  You might been tempted to pawn your stuff over at the local pawn shop for some quick cash, but don’t.  This is fools way to make money.

Why Selling Your Stuff on eBay Makes Sense
1. eBay gets you a relative true value for your stuff based on the principles of supply and demand.  The more demand, the higher bidders are willing to bid up the price of your item.  Lower demand = lower bid price.
2. A large marketplace.  Why sell your stuff where there is limited demand happening.  A garage sell for example can be a terrible way to sell your stuff.  You’ve limited your demand to people who expect a low price.  Plus it’s not people who necessarily looking for what you were selling, rather its a spur of the moment thing.
3. Transactions self managed. Your store basically runs itself.  All the transactions are taken care of.  You just list the item and let eBay do the rest.  In a garage sale you have to sit idle for 8 hours.  That alone makes its unworth having a garage altogether.

Why You Should Sell Your Stuff
If you have anything you haven’t touched in the last 3 years sitting idle in storage, what are the chances you will use it in the next few years?  Sure some things do gain value over the years, but other things just waste space.  What if you sold all your stuff and invested it into something that earns 5%?  Over the course of 20 years those things would be much more valuable…

Making Money Online During the Recession, Money Making Tips

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

With many people forced home due to the recession with jobs cut left and right.  Making money has seemed like a better option for many getting their unemployment and lay off checks.

I’ve had people coming to me, asking how they can start making money online, but I always have to admit a few things:
1) Making big money on a blog is not something that can be done easily one day to the next, that is unless you carefully create a good Adwords campaign.
2) If you are new to this, you need time to research, experiment, and learn from your mistakes.
3) You are better off getting a job through someone else at the start, to learn how to blog better, then on the side create your own.
4) It could take even a year before you make good money, don’t expect this to be the solution to your financial woes.

Recommendations
1) Don’t be lazy – Now you can’t work online just whenever and expect to earn a big profit from it.  So many people get excited to make money online and 3 days later I see them eathing Doritos on the couch while their blog hasn’t been updated.
2) Put hope aside – It seems like a dream to wakeup and have the money rolling in.  But how do you get there?  Dreaming won’t get you rich.  Rather take it step by step.  Forget about the rich part and focus on getting those first $2.
3) Showing off – If you figure out a technique that makes you money, do not tell anyone!  Do you want someone copying your techniques?  I hide my own secrets, simply because I don’t want anyone jumping in and doing the exact same thing!

Ways to Make Your Website, Blog Viral

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

A viral website, almost like mouth to mouth marketing, is a great way to market your site and grow traffic… fast.  I’ve come up with a few techniques for making your website viral, which will help make your website traffic grow fast.

1. Creating a Viral Video - Videos are a great way to get your website name out there, and a way to hit a new medium, video.  There are so many video sites out there… Googe Video, YouTube… that you can market your video to plenty of users.

Make sure your video is worth watching.  I’ve noticed that people don’t like feeling tricked.

2. Write Valuable Articles - Submitting your article to ArticleCity.com or GoArticles.com is a great way to find some additonal traffic, just by looking like a pro and putting your link to your site in your article.

3. Create Social Profiles of Your Website – Sites such as MySpace and Facebook are a great place to give your website it’s own profile.

4. Social Post Individual ArticlesStumbleUpon.com, Digg.com, Del.Icio.us are a great place to submit your articles. (Be careful as I’ve had my IP banned at Digg.)

5. Email Signatures - Setting your website in your email signature is a great way to promote your site to the people you already email.  Why not let them indirectly know as well?

In conclusion, there are plenty of ways to get traffic.  By using the viral website that exist, you can take advantage of them and help use these ways to make your website, blog go viral.
