How To Get Passed Blocked Websites

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

For whatever reason your computer might be blocked from viewing certain websites. There are a number of easy ways to get passed any block whether you are at the office, blogging through the great firewall of China, or just on a library computer.

The easiest way to get passed any blocked websites is by simply accessing a proxy, or getting a vpn. Currently I use a VPN which allows me to tunnel my internet traffic through a different ip address (mine being located in Switzerland). Software like hidemynet.com or an internet website like http://hidemyass.com/ will actually help you bypass blocked websites.

These services are also great for hiding from your workplace what you are really doing on the internet. They won’t be able to see that you really spent half the day searching YouTube.

Check Website Loading Time and Speed, Website Speed Checker

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

If you want to check the loading time of your website using an online checker, there is a great tool that will tell you what the speed, aka loading time of your website is.  The tool offered from iwebtool lets you check the loading time of up to 10 domains. Using the Key red being slow and blue being fast, you can properly judge whether your website is up to speed.

A slow loading website can cost you more than disinterested website viewers, (people like things fast or they’ll move on), but also adsense also will give you worse ads if your site is slow loading.

You’ll find the tool on iwebtool.com

1) Hubpages.com - Get links back to your site by writing featured articles promoting your site.  Make sure to write at least 200 words per link or they might mark your article as spam.

2) Google.com/Knol – I’ve written knol articles to my site.  They are highly valued by Google, almost as much as wikipedia.

3) Wikipedia – This method is tricky and doesn’t always work, but often if you can get a link if you link back to your site as a source by writing a wikipedia article.

4) Commenting on Blogs – Find blogs on BustaBlog.com, Wordpress.com, etc., and include your link in the comment.  Keep in mind that comments should make sense and be a decent comment on the actual article or most likely your comments will be marked as spam.

5) GoArticles.com – Simply write a goarticle, add your link, it’s that simple.

6) TradeLinks - Start trading links with other websites and build a seperate link directory on your site with people with whom you’ve traded links.
