I just recieved my “Windows XP Media Centre Slim USB” Remote Control with the intention of using my “Windows XP Media Centre Slim USB Remote Control” to control my slingbox with a remote control as well as winamp and dvd player. From first glance, the $13 I paid for the remote seemed a bit too cheap, making me think that the quality
would be below average.
Windows XP Media Centre Slim USB Remote Control Performance
After testing the range, I manage to be able to control my computer remotely from anywhere in my fairly large room. The remote emulates keys on your keyboard like alt+shift+x so it won’t interfere with your normal computer functions, yet at the same time, you can set it up to work with devices like a slingbox, tvu player, and even winamp for controlling your music library.
Software Included: Power Cinema
Included in the package is a copy of Power Cinema with a serial number. Install the software and you’ll have a near clone of Windows Media Center. It’s good for managing your pictures, and music, and the remote control is set perfectly for working with it.
Interested? Here’s a current auction on ebay, from the same seller in Hong Kong I purchased my remote control from. They usually range about $13 to $20 with shipping internationally
