Though I’ve just heard of Vimeo’s online tv channels, Vimeo has actually been around since 2004. Vimeo was also the first video sharing site to support HD quality content. HD videos uploaded are automatically converted into 720p Flash video.

User Created Channels
Users on Vimeo create their own user created online tv channels. Take Blast TV for example, his channel is created just like a regular news show. Or, one of my favorites includes the Cityscapes channel.  The music and film editing gives you a really interesting look at a ton of different cities.  There is a lot of interesting stuff on here you won’t readily find available on other video sharing site.

HD Content
Unlike most sharing sites, as I said, Vimeo has HD content.  Take HVX Chile, they’ve used the HD format to create interesting videos that play with time and space.

With over 3,900 channels, there is plenty to watch on Vimeo.
