Is Blu-Ray Dead like HD-DVD? Future of the HD Format
Published by admin on April 22nd, 2008 | Tagged news

Who went out and bought a Blu-Ray Disc player or worse the dead Hd-DVD format?  Fortunately there is still enough HD-DVD content for both formats to satisfy anyone… but, is the future of HD-DVD even in favor of Blu-Ray?

Playstation Gets Direct HD-DVD Downloads
Sony, looking for a killer app on the playstation 3 has announced that direct video download service could go live as early as this summer.  Who needs the disc when you can just store it on your hard drive?

The Price of Data is Cheap!
Now you can pop over to your nearest electronic shop, or order online and get a 500 gb hard drive for as each as 20 cents per gigabyte.  Costing you, $3.60 to store an 18 gigabyte film.  Or even better, most HD-DVD downloads off that net don’t even run nearly 18 gigabytes.  By compressing films into the DIVX format, HD-DVD content is a small as 8 gigabytes per disc.

The Main Question…
Why buy an HD player when you can’t just play it off your computer… sure it’s a pain running everything off your laptop, but this may keep many from making the expensive switch…
