Since the shutdown of Stage6, another service, Vreel has stepped in to take its place and provide Divx Video online. When the new Vreel Divx Video service launches could be anyones guess since their release date is “May 2008″, but the day is unspecified. The launch day had previously been delayed until May 6th, but of course it’s been delayed even further.
Currently on Vreel’s site reads “We’re very proud to announce that we have just put pen to paper on a 12-month contract with Limelight Networks, Inc. Limelight Networks is an extremely highly regarded Content Distribution Network, serving companies such as Microsoft, MSNBC, Valve, Oprah.com, and Electronic Arts to name but a few of their clients.”
Vreel will however, not take over the videos that were at Stage6. Vreel starts completely at scratch. It might be a great opportunity to upload your videos so you’ll have some of the first searchable videos on Vreel.
