What is the Future of Television?

By admin | May 3, 2008

Our Future of Television and the direction the future that television is heading according to NBC boss Ben Silverman is that in 15 years, we won’t really be using TV for anything except launching a show and to watch big “event” shows like American Idol and The Super Bowl.

I really can’t see Ben Silverman being too correct with his facts. For TV to be phased out completely in 15 years seems far fetched. Hopefully what will happen is that TV and the internet will be much better merged together. Maybe our TV’s will function a bit more like computers, giving us many more extra features as well as TV on demand. Traditional networks might still broadcasts their shows, but with a lot more features that make use of the internet like finding out more information about the shows, or the option to watch the show when we choose (though we already have TIVO).
