Sesame Street is working on their website SesameSteet.org which goes live in August.  Currently the site is online with some videos for watching the classic Sesame Street Online.  While Sesame Street has no plans to cancel the show, it recognizes that more of it’s viewers are watching videos online and getting online so it would be a good idea to start taking advantage of the online video sector.

“We view this as really the future of the workshop, as becoming the primary channel of distribution down the line,” Gary E. Knell, president and chief executive of Sesame Workshop, said in a telephone interview with NY Times.

They’ve been developing this site for the last two years and hope that in August a release date that coincides with the new season, will double their current website traffic.

So when will we probably see full episodes of Sesame Street Online?  Probably not till August, but in the meanwhile you can watch clips from the show at sesameworkshop.org.
