The Olympics are over and NBC is still realizing that the Olympics 2008 was not the money maker it had hoped it to be. Watching the Olympics online was a great way to see events in real time and to choose from 4 different events at any given time, yet some controversy including not showing the opening of the games live as well as the 100 meter dash online, an effort done to help bring viewers to watch the events on television, in effect limited their internet television broadcast and made NBC shoot themselves in the foot.

The total money earned for the 2008 Olympics online coverage? $5.75 Million Revenue was earned which sounds like a large sum of money, was a disappointment for NBC. Is there a lesson to be learned for the 2012 Olympics?
