Before we’ve noticed plenty of offending YouTube video clips facing removal, as they break copyrights, but now a new solution has been added against those offending clips. Pirated YouTube clips are identified and companies now have the right to monetize these clips rather than remove them. These new second option is becoming popular among media companies as a way to profit from illegal videos being placed on YouTube.
This new second option should also help prevent anymore lawsuits against YouTube. President of Lionsgate media said “We don’t want to condone people taking our intellectual property and using it without our permission. But we also don’t like the idea of keeping fans of our products from being able to engage with our content.â€
