HD Video Free Online with VReel
Published by admin on September 22nd, 2008 | Tagged news

VReel launches, expecting to take off where Stage6’s HD Video site left off, to provide a new alternative for streaming HD video online. Veoh, Wuapi, Joost do offers a relatively good HD Video content for free online, but nothing of the high quality content that Stage6 had.  Stage6 as you might know, had to end their service since DivX® claimed it was taking a loss of millions of dollars keeping the site active.

Now with VReel in the works, we might finally have a high quality divx stream location with completely free HD Video at very high quality.

Currently written on VReel.net “With our launch of Beta v2, we’ll be rolling out our very own Webplayer. The VReel player is based around the highly regarded VLC back engine, and is being developed from the ground up to suit the needs and wants of our many users. The VReel player will contain popular functions such as the “desktop dimmer”, and pop-out player. This player will be native to h.264 - the highest quality codec on the market, while retaining full support for DivX5.x+, DivX6.x+ and XviD1.x+.”

With features such as “HD video up to 8.5 GB file size” or even it’s own pop out player, this should be a great new alternative.

Monetization of VReel?

They have both a basic (up to 1 GB) and a premium version of VReel with the premium version costing:

Gold Account:

  • $7/month
  • 3 months: $18 - $6.00/month
  • 6 months: $33 - $5.50/month
  • 12 months: $57 - $4.75/month
