The Blu-Ray player in the United states is expected to drop to only $150 after Thanksgiving. We are also led to believe that for Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States with the biggest sales, Blu-Ray players will be at some of their lowest prices ever.
The biggest problem that Blu-Ray manufacturers realize is that people prefer downloads over actually hard disks. Why do you need to physically own a disk? In fact most newer computers are capable of playing HD quality video files. Still, nothing beats full HD quality offered from Blu-Ray disks, and perhaps with the price cuts, more consumers will be looking toward purchasing a Blu Ray player.
If you are like me and don’t have an HD television, you don’t need an HD player, but time will tell to see if these major Blu-Ray impacts will have a large increasing effect on Blu-Ray disc rentals.
