Free TV PVR with Myth TV, Myth TV Download

One free way to add pvr functionality to your computer is through Myth TV which uses a pc card connected to your computer and allows you to record programs when they are on. It works sort of like Tivo.

PVR functions of Myth TV

• Basic ‘live-tv’ functionality. Pause/Fast Forward/Rewind “live” TV.
• Support for multiple tuner cards and multiple simultaneous recordings.
• Distributed architecture allowing multiple recording machines and multiple playback machines on the same network, completely transparent to the user.
• Compresses video in software using rtjpeg (from Nuppelvideo) or mpeg4 (from libavcodec).

Basically Myth tv is a very basic pvr program for tv recording cards that allows simply to use free pvr capabilities.
