In trying to be the first, Vudu now offers HD Movie to download with the Vudu subscription service. Offering HD quality downloads as a movie rental process is one of the first.   What brings us to true HD Movie quality for download is the new Vudu  HDX, and it’s a new format which means that content downloaded from the Web will now be 1080p.

Normal HD movies: $5.99 for new releases, and $3.99 for catalogue titles. Overall Vudu has at least 300 HD titles.

We’ve found Vudu an expensive option, but with HD Movies it could have an edge.  Still if you aren’t concerned about renting HD films, we’d prefer sticking with  Apple TV and the Roku box.

So if you are looking to rent and download HD movies, we would use Vudu and download them to your pc and pass on the Vudu HDX/
