Reasons to Cancel Your Cable TV, Canceling your TV

By admin | Oct 11, 2008

The New York Times wrote how many people are finding more and more reasons to cut the cable tv, finding that cable tv simply isn’t necessary anymore.  In fact now, 20 percent of all TV viewers have found reasons to cancel their cable tv and watch shows online.  In fact the New York times reported that half of those people don’t watch TV at all anymore.

Our Reasons to Cancel Cable TV

1. Cable TV is expensive.  Many users pay at least $70 per month to watch cable tv programming, which honestly is getting worse and worse.  During a rough economy why throw your dollars to the cable companies?

2. Too many ads.  Do you like watching 15 minute of ads in a half hour? On sites like Hulu you can watch 30 seconds ads and at most about 2 and a half minutes of ads during a show.

3. News and major networks are already free. Channels like FOX, CBS,  NBC all provide free broadcasts of their stations which includes local news.

4. Less reasons to just watch tv and more reasons to go out.  Cable tv just provides random programming where as using sites like Hulu allow you to watch the shows you want when you want.  Stop scheduling your life around Cable TV and watch it when you want to.
