This same strategy was pursued in the 1930s when Roosevelt used the radio to connect with and inform the general population of the latest news about the terribly economy.  Now Obama is faced with a similar economic situation.  We are already impressed with Obama showing that he’s going to make his best efforts to connect with the population and at the same time embrace the latest technology.
