Jumanji the animated series is about a board game called Jumaji which you must finish in order to end all chaos which starts happening when you play.  The game makes things come real, whether it be lions, or a wild hunter.  The difference between the cartoon is that in the cartoon, the kids are sucked into the actual Jumanji world.  In this world they run into a man who was sucked in much earlier and devise a plan to get out.
