Google Video Gets Cancelled, No More Google Video

By admin | Jan 15, 2009

Google Video is slowly shutting its doors.  Google has said that it’s video site service would stop accepting video uploads “in a few months.”  However those worried about their uploads on Google Video need not fret,  Google has said that all existing uploads will remain online indefinitely.

One of the biggest problems with Google video was reliability problems.  Users had often complained that the service was barely usable at times.

Google still has YouTube and Picasso for users to upload videos, so they aren’t dropping completely out of the video market.  Google Video seemed unnecessary in any case, not offering much more than YouTube.

Presume you mean Picasa, of course – Picasso is that odd painter chappie.

Still a shame that Google video is closing – made a nice change form YouTube’s excesses.
