Episodes of the anime Berserk are online to watch with English subtitles.  Berserk was inspired by the times of medieval Europe.  Before the anime came the dark fantasy manga by mangaka Kentarō Miura.

Berserk is about an orphaned warrior by the name of Guts. As Guts ages, he slowly turns from a solitary boy, into a man that realizes the value of camaraderie. He involves himself in heavy violence involving himself in battles. Due to his skill and strength, Guts becomes known as The Black Swordsman. During a brutal raid on the King’s castle, he reflects on his battle-filled past and the many events that have shaped him.

This anime called Berserk is comprised of 25-episodes and first aired from October 7, 1997 to April, 1998.
