Blade of the Immortal is about the actions and deeds of the samurai named Manji. Manji appears immortal as no wound can kill him, however, a rare poison is the one weakness he has. In the past his actions have led to the death of 100 samurai included the husband of his sister. Manji goes on various samurai questions including avenging the death of girl named Asano Rin’s parents who were killed by a group of master swordsmen led by Anotsu Kagehisa.

The anime version of Blade of the Immortal first premiered on July 13, 2008.
