The literal translation of Busou Renkin means “Armored Alchemist” and started as a manga series written and drawn by Nobuhiro Watsuk.
Busou Renkin is about a student who is killed saving a mysterous girl from a monster. When he wakes in his school dorm, he believes it was all a dream. However, it was all but a dream. The girl feeling responsible for his death, installed a replacement heart created by inserting a Kakugane medallion into his chest. It turns out the only thing that can destroy these monsters is the Buso Renkin. These weaspons are formed from alchemically-created kakugane, based on the user’s will to fight.
