Dragonaut: The Resonance first ran on Japanese television, Tokyo TV, between October 3, 2007 and March 26, 2008. The manga version was actually based on the tv series, which was published by Shueisha.
Dragonaut: The Resonance starts off with Earth, near it’s end thanks to an asteroid that is bound to hit. To save the planet, the International Solarsystem Development Agency (ISDA) works on the “D-Project”. They create the “Dragonaut” after finding a dragon egg under the ocean. Now the asteroid isn’t the only threat to earth, dragon-like creatures have started appearing…
The story follows Jin Kamishina as he involves himself in the mysteries of the dragons and becomes the chosen pilot of the Dragonaut.
