Hoop Days begins when there are not enough players to play basketball. The coach leaves after a conflict with Fukiwara. A new player transfers to Mizuho and infuses the team with purpose based on his enthusiasm for the game. There are now only 5 players, meaning no substitutes are available. Even the coach of the girls team agrees to help coach them.
A Playstation 2 Game entitled Dear Boys: Fast Break was also released in 2003.
