By admin | Feb 9, 2009

Imagine this story, cable tv and satellite tv actually is starting to feel the threat from two diverging factors. 1) The economy which is forcing consumers to penny pinch 2) Netflix and Internet TV providing cheaper alternatives.

This is one of the first times we have had an option outside cable tv and satellite tv, to still get most of the same shows but spend a lot less.  They now feel the oncoming threat, because in fact, Time Warner Cable, the USA’s second-largest cable operator, lost 119,000 basic video customers in the fourth quarter.

The biggest threat is the younger consumer who are more tech savvey most likey able to more easily switch away from cable.

Advice to cable and satellite?  Start adapting ways to feature content online in the chance that in the future, since unless you adapt for the future, you are going to get left behind.
