Recently it seems that Hulu has blocked downloading of videos with Replay Media Catcher. Every since around today, any user using Replay Media Catcher to rip videos to watch later have had their efforts blocked.
Comments in a forum about the recent change to Hulu and Replay Media Catcher include: “RMC worked wonderfully with Hulu through Hotspot Shield for many weeks. All of a sudden it has stopped working altogether.”
Though Replay Media Catcher is crying no foul saying that it should still work, many users are reporting the opposite. No one is sure of the change but we will update you with more info.

I am the software engineer who wrote Replay Media Catcher.
Media Catcher still works with Hulu, just not Hi-Definition (”480p”) videos.
The reason why this has happened is because Hulu streams the Hi-Def videos using Adobe’s RTMPE (RTMP Encrypted) protocol. Media Catcher used to download these encrypted streams, but Adobe didn’t like that fact and ordered us via court order to stop using their proprietary encrypted protocol.
So, to sum it up, Media Catcher still works with Hulu… just not the hi-def videos. You can still get *any video* off of that site, just not the hi-def version of it.

I just purchased Replay Media Catcher and Can Not get any video from HULU to download. I am going to request a refund.

I have the media catcher and it will not download anything but commerials. I have tried for the last 3 days. I can get any episodes that was posted before, but not now. not even in low- def. or hi-def. Can you help us?

I have the same problem as Kim. I can not record anything off of hulu with the media catcher that\’s been added in the past week besides the commercials. I can record all episodes previously posted in hi or low def. Could you please help us?
