In Melody of Oblivion there was once a great war between humans and monsters in which the monsters after that rule the world hidden from plain sight.  This boy Bokka wonders what became of the heroes that fought against the monsters. He meets Kurofune and learns of the power of the Meros and the I-bar machines they ride in battle.  The only ones that can hear the Melody of Oblivion is a girl hiden away waiting to be rescued to save mankind…
