In the anime NANA we find the story of a girl Nana on the way to meet her boyfriend while sitting on the train. She just happens to sit by another Nana, Nana Osaki who is on the way to Tokyo to become a musician, currently a vocalist for the punk band Blast. Both Nana girls meet and form a friendship, crossing paths again in the future as they go through their love lives and careers. Despite having contrasting characters and ideals, the Nanas like and respect each other.
