In the anime series Natsume Yujin-Cho, Natsume is a boy surrounded by spirits. After his grandmother Reiko dies, Natsume figures out just why he is plagued by the spirits. A strange book contains the name of the spirits that were binding in a contract between them and the owner of the book. Now Nastume is determined to help free these spirits and end their contracts. To help him is a spirit cat which helps him return the names to the spirits.
Another ability that Natsume has is the ability to see the dreams and memories of the spirits. This happens if a spirit gets too emotional, then Natsume can see the dreams the spirit is having.
