Zango is something that floats around on video sites, saying if you download the toolbar, then you get access to the video site. Unfortunately Zango is just a way for these sites to make money by infecting your pc with software.
Is Zango a scam? Not entirely, but worth the download? No.
Already Zango once lost a 3 million dollar lawsuit for it’s shady practices, making its files resemble those of system hardware, making it difficult to remove. Though Zango has altered the way they do business, they are still shady anyway you look at it.
“Consumers’ computers belong to them, and they shouldn’t have to accept any content they don’t want,” said Lydia Parnes, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “If consumers choose to receive pop-up ads, so be it. But it violates federal law to secretly install software that forces consumers to get pop-ups that disrupt their computer use.”
