After writing my recent post about Replay Media Catcher having problems with Hulu, it appears that videos are still recordable using the software, just not the HD videos. Due to a court order, Replay Media Catcher was forced to disallow any recording of HD videos from Hulu.
The verdict? Replay Media Catcher is still valuable software.
As Andy Heinlein, a software engineer for Replay Media Catcher wrote: “The reason why this has happened is because Hulu streams the Hi-Def
videos using Adobe’s RTMPE (RTMP Encrypted) protocol. Media Catcher used to download these encrypted streams, but Adobe didn’t like that fact and ordered us via court order to stop using their proprietary encrypted protocol.”
Just make sure if you use Replay Media Catcher to select the non HD formats before ripping.
