In Spice and Wolf is about a guy at the age of 25, Lawrence, who pedels from town to town buying and selling things. One day in the town of Pasroe, he finds in his wagon a 250 year old pagan wolf deity girl named Holo. She has a wolf tail and ears and looks to be about the age of 15. She says that she is the goddess of harvest and responible for the good what harvests all the years.
To get out of this village she manages to bargain her way out of the village by making a deal with Lawrence to take her with him. They travel place to place, but the true nature of her draws unwanted attention from the church.
