Tokyo Mew Mew begins when Ichigo is zapped by a ray that mixes her DNA with that of a Iriomote wildcat. Now she finds out that she has the agility of a cat, as well as sometimes the ears and tails and can now transform into the super hero Mew Ichigo. Now it turns out that along with four other girls she was selected for a special project which gives girls different genes from animals known as the Mew Project. They have been brought together to fight against the alien menace known as Deep Blue and protect planet Earth.
