In the NBC series Life centers around Detective Charlie Crews, who at the start of the first season is released from Pelican Bay State Prison after serving twelve years of a life sentence. Now this detective gets a second chance after serving time for a crime he did not commit. In Life, Damian Lewis stars as a former police officer who, after years of false imprisonment, returns to the force with a decidedly different philosophy.
